Jerez Preview: Can Anyone Stop the #72?

  Lately, Marco Bezzecchi is making winning look easy. With a flawless hat trick of victories in Thailand, Brazil, and the USA, the #72 has treated the early-season standings like his own personal victory lap. Next stop: Jerez. Luke Hughes Scores the Game-winner! NJ Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers, 11/30/23

 






   The Devils won in overtime after being in the lead until the Flyers caught up to them on Thursday, November 30th. Luke Hughes scored the overtime winner, the final score being 4-3. After first period, it was unsure if he'd be able to play for the rest of the game due to a collision with Garnet Hathaway. Fortunately, he cleared concussion protocol.


Here's the Devils lineup against the Flyers:

   Alexander Holtz puts the Devils in the lead in first period, Jack Hughes scoring near the end of first. The final score from first period being 2-0.


   Morgan Frost scores the first goal for the Flyers in second period, the final score being 2-1.


   Tyler Toffoli scores in third, Sean Walker scoring for the flyers and making the score 3-2. Only minutes being left, Tyson Foerster scores and ties it up. Final score being 3-3 before overtime!


   Luke Hughes scores the game-winner, taking a bow! (As he should!!)



"It was a good win for our team," Luke Hughes said. "It was a resilient win for our guys. Got a three-game win streak, and we got to keep it going."



- Alexander Holtz got his seventh goal of the season.

- The game against the Flyers on November 30th was Samuel Laberge's First NHL Career Game

- Jack Hughes *updated* stats:

   - 8 Goals

   - 21 Assists

   - 29 Points

- Carter Hart stopped 31 shots for the Flyers.



"It's amazing, all the effort and everything I put in just for that moment," Samuel Laberge said. "It was amazing, just a lot of emotion."
