Kadirova, Elridge Each Score Two, Torrent Falls 4-3 To Charge

  Photo via Seattle Torrent/PWHL The Torrent suffered their fourth straight loss when they took on the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday at TD Place, losing 4-3. Seattle came alive in the second period behind two goals from Jessie Eldridge. Alex Carpenter, who made history scoring the first-ever penalty shot goal in PWHL history, tied the game before Ottawa took the lead back with little time to play. Fanuza Kadirova found the back of the net twice for the Charge. Alexa Vasko and Emily Clark also scored to help secure the victory. The Torrent will look to regroup before hosting the Boston Fleet on March 11, while the Charge travel to the Prudential Center on Sunday for a showdown with the New York Sirens. Canucks 4-Game Win Streak - 4-3 Against Pittsburgh 1/11/24

   It was a hockey night in Pittsburgh! The Penguins played against the Canucks on Thursday, January 11th - It was a close win for either team. The Canucks won with a 4-3 score in overtime, this being their fourth win in a row!

   Brock Boeser nets one just past 5 minutes in the first period - Boeser nets another! Marcus Pettersson scores the first goal for the Penguins with 3:39 remaining, Elias Pettersson scoring soon after Marcus. 3-1 was the final score of the first period.


   Sidney Crosby cuts the Canucks lead with 13:55 remaining in the middle frame. Crosby being the only one who scored this period - 3-2 was the final.


   Sidney Crosby AGAIN, his second of the night, and ties up the game with less than 30 seconds remaining in the third period - heading into overtime!


    Elias Pettersson wins it for the Vancouver Canucks!



"He's been playing great, and he's a great goaltender," Tristan Jarry said postgame, talking about Alex Nedeljkovic. "Whoever's playing well, I think should be playing - I think that's just the way it's been going, he's done a great job. I'm just there to support him, whether he's supporting me or I'm supporting him. We have a great relationship - we're pushing each other and I think that helps us be at our best."

- Reilly Smith didn't return for the remainder of the game due to an upper-body injury

- Elias Pettersson became the first player in NHL history to score the game-winning goal in 4 straight road games!

"It's very good from us, but we're still letting a goal there at the end - we can do a little better there," Elias Pettersson said, talking about the Canucks 4-3 win. "But overall, I'm happy with the win."
