Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Capitals VS Kings 4-3, 1/7/24

   The Kings played in Washington on Sunday, January 7th. It was a close win for the Kings, but the Capitals won with a 4-3 score. The Kings have been on a losing streak - five games now where they have lost.

   The first period was completely scoreless.


   Nic Dowd starts off the game, with the Capitals in the lead. Dowd has scored in back-to-back games, recording four points in the last five. Adrian Kempe ties up the game with 12:48 remaining. Kevin Fiala gets the Kings in the lead, this being his ninth goal of the season. Dylan Strome ties it up - 2-2 being the final score of the second.


   Kevin Fiala strikes back early in the third, this being his tenth of the season! Nicolas Aube-Kubel scores his fourth of the season and ties the game back up. John Carlson scores - the final score being 4-3.
