Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Colorado Avalanche 3-0 Win Against Vegas, 1/10/24

   The Golden Knights played against the Avalanche in Colorado on Wednesday, January 10th. It was a tough loss for Vegas, getting no goals the whole night. The Avalanche now winning two games in a row, the first being against the Boston Bruins (4-3) on January 8th.

   Valeri Nichushkin scores late into the first period with only 13.8 seconds remaining. Nichushkin scored his twenty-first goal of the season. He was also the only one to score a goal in the shootout against Boston on January 8th. 1-0 was the final score of the first period.


   Valeri Nichushkin again with another goal, this being his twenty-second of the season! His goal was the only one in this period, 2-0.


   Logan O'Connor gives the Avalanche a three-goal lead, scoring his seventh goal of the season. The final score overall was 3-0.



"I thought we did a great job - I think that was a pretty complete 60 minutes," Logan O'Connor said, talking about the Avalanche's 3-0 win. "I thought everyone was contributing in different ways, and all four lines were great tonight. So again, that's something we can build on, and now we're going on the road. So, it gets even more difficult."
