Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Colorado Avalanche 3-0 Win Against Vegas, 1/10/24

   The Golden Knights played against the Avalanche in Colorado on Wednesday, January 10th. It was a tough loss for Vegas, getting no goals the whole night. The Avalanche now winning two games in a row, the first being against the Boston Bruins (4-3) on January 8th.

   Valeri Nichushkin scores late into the first period with only 13.8 seconds remaining. Nichushkin scored his twenty-first goal of the season. He was also the only one to score a goal in the shootout against Boston on January 8th. 1-0 was the final score of the first period.


   Valeri Nichushkin again with another goal, this being his twenty-second of the season! His goal was the only one in this period, 2-0.


   Logan O'Connor gives the Avalanche a three-goal lead, scoring his seventh goal of the season. The final score overall was 3-0.



"I thought we did a great job - I think that was a pretty complete 60 minutes," Logan O'Connor said, talking about the Avalanche's 3-0 win. "I thought everyone was contributing in different ways, and all four lines were great tonight. So again, that's something we can build on, and now we're going on the road. So, it gets even more difficult."
