Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Connor Bedard Injury Update - Hit From Brendan Smith on 1/5/24

 







   The Blackhawks played in Jersey on Friday, January 5th. The game was more fights and penalties than goals after Connor Bedard took a hit from Brendan Smith. The Devils did end up winning with a 4-2 score in the third after the Blackhawks were in the lead with a 2-1 score.


   Soon into the first period, Connor Bedard took a big hit from Brendan Smith. Bedard had left for the remainder of the game and no updates.. the rest of the game was full of constant fights and penalties, and a few other players also went to the locker room.

   Nico Hischier went to the locker room soon after Bedard due to a hit by Connor Murphy, but he returned in the second period. Jack Hughes and Nick Foligno left the game later on - no updates on Jack Hughes, but Nick Foligno has a fractured left finger while Connor Bedard has a fractured jaw. Both Bedard and Foligno are on injured reserve.
