Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Connor Bedard will not be attending the Blackhawks' road trip before NHL All-Star break

 





 




   On January 5th when Chicago played against the New Jersey Devils at The Rock, Connor Bedard took a hit from Brendan Smith. The game was full of fights and penalties after the rookie left the game with a fractured jaw.


   On January 10th, the Blackhawks posted an update on Bedard about his successful surgery to repair his fractured jaw and the expected amount of time he'd be out of the lineup.

 



   A week after Bedard's surgery, he went back on the ice to practice, wearing a face shield. Coach Luke Richardson stated that Connor isn't allowed to take slapshots while skating and about how Bedard had been begging to get back on the ice - he'd been given specific instructions. However, there is no change in Connor Bedard's timeline... still 6-8 weeks.
