Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Edmonton Oilers 8-Game Win Streak, 2-1 Win Against The Blackhawks - 1/9/24

   The Oilers played against the Blackhawks in Chicago on Tuesday, January 9th. It wasn't too much of an eventful game, the Oilers won with a 2-1 score. However, this is the eighth game in a row that the Oilers have won!

   Jason Dickinson strikes first, scoring his fourteenth of the season and getting the Blackhawks in the lead. Leon Draisaitl nets one, getting his nineteenth of the season and tying up the game - 1-1 being the final score of the first period.


   Connor McDavid gets Edmonton in the lead early into the second period, also scoring his fifteenth of the season. The final score of the second period was 2-1.


   Zach Hyman scored the third goal for the Oilers - Chicago challenged it and it turned out to be no goal. The final score overall was 2-1.



"Not out best, but give them credit. They clocked things up, they played a solid game," Connor McDavid said, speaking about the Oilers win against the Blackhawks. "I thought we did just enough to get a win."
