Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Flyers Win In OT, 4-3, Against The Wild 1/12/24

   The Flyers played in Minnesota against the Wild on Friday, January 12th. Philadelphia won in overtime with a 4-3 score! The Wild has been on a 3-game losing streak that began with the Dallas Stars from January 8-10.

   The first period was completely scoreless, 0-0.


   Marcus Johansson (Jojo) strikes first just 51 seconds into the middle frame, the Wild in the lead. Joel Farabee ties it up with 3:37 remaining. 1-1 was the final score of the second period.


   Ryan Hartman scores his 13th of the season early in the third period. Matt Boldy scores not too long after Hartman, getting his 15th of the season. Tyson Foerster nets one, the second goal for the Flyers. Owen Tippett scores an absolute rocket and ties up the game! 3-3, now heading into overtime.


   Joel Farabee strikes another and wins it for Philadelphia! 4-3 was the final score overall.



"This is a really tough road trip at this point in the year - This is that time of the year where points are really crucial." Joel Farabee said postgame after the Flyers overtime win against the Wild.
