Jordan Martinook scores the game-winner, Hurricanes 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins 1/24/24

   The Carolina Hurricanes visited Boston and took the win with a 3-2 score against the Bruins on Wednesday, January 24th. Jordan Martinook wins it late in the final period for the Canes.

   Carolina opens the scoring - Martin Necas strikes his 12th goal of the season and third goal in the past three games straight. Necas scored on the power play with a wrist shot, coming from the top of the left circle.


   Teuvo Teravainen made it a 2-0 score, shooting the puck between Bruins forward Charlie Coyle's legs on the power play. The final score of the middle frame was 2-0.


   Only 90 seconds into the final frame, Brad Marchand scores his 22nd goal of the season. Marchand finished off Trent Frederic's cross-crease pass. Marchand strikes again, scoring his 23rd of the season, and ties up the game 2-2 on the rebound of Coyle's deflection in the front. Finishing up the game and winning it for the Hurricanes, Jordan Martinook scored his sixth goal of the month with 2:27 remaining in the third period.

Brad Marchand on the Bruins' 3-2 loss against Carolina: "You got to take good and bad things from each game and learn from it. It's great to be able to establish a good game at home. We have another opportunity in February and March as well. So, it would be nice to be at home more towards the end of the season."


Charlie Coyle on the Bruins' 3-2 loss: "That's things we as a team got to learn from. Time of the game, situations... but you got to grow from that and that's what we're going to do - get better from it."
