Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Kings Lose To The Dallas Stars 5-1, 1/16/24

   The Kings played against the Stars in Dallas on Tuesday, January 16th. The Stars defeated the Kings with a 5-1 score! It was a great win for the Stars after their loss against the Predators before they beat the Blackhawks.

   Roope Hintz scores the first goal of the game with his 18th of the season, putting the Stars in the lead. Evgenii Dadonov nets one, this being his 10th goal of the season! The final score of the first period was 2-0.


   Drew Doughty scored the first and only goal for the Kings. Doughty's goal was the only one in the middle frame, the final score was 2-1.


   Wyatt Johnston strikes his 12th of the season! Joe Pavelski nets one soon after Johnston, and the Stars lead by three. Sam Steel scores the fifth goal of the game and his fifth of the season! The final score overall was 5-1.



"Feels good - It's a good confidence booster, it's good to help chip in. Obviously, that's the number one thing, just trying to do your part - help chip in whenever you can. It feels good when you're able to do that." Wyatt Johnston spoke after the game about his goal and the Stars 5-1 win against the Kings.
