Oilers Extend Their Win Streak To 11 Games Straight After Defeating The Maple Leafs, 1/16/24

   The Maple Leafs visited the Oilers in Edmonton on Tuesday, January 16th. The Maple Leafs had a great 2-0 lead until the Oilers finally came back at them, and the Oilers won with a 4-2 score.

   Auston Matthews strikes first - this goal marked his 333rd of his career, now in fourth place on the Maple Leafs all-time goals list. The Maple Leafs lead by one, 1-0.


   Morgan Rielly makes it a two-goal lead for Toronto! Zach Hyman scores the first goal for the Oilers - it was challenged and determined offsides. Leon Draisaitl nets one and the final score of the second period was 2-1.


   Derek Ryan ties up the game, 2-2, early in the third period. Ryan McLeod gives the Oilers the lead with three minutes left to play. Evan Bouchard wins it for the Oilers - 11-straight wins for Edmonton!



"It was a great atmosphere. They have a lot of fans here too - I think it almost felt like a playoff game, it was really fun." Ryan McLeod spoke after the Oilers 4-2 win about the game and his goal.
