Kadirova, Elridge Each Score Two, Torrent Falls 4-3 To Charge

  Photo via Seattle Torrent/PWHL The Torrent suffered their fourth straight loss when they took on the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday at TD Place, losing 4-3. Seattle came alive in the second period behind two goals from Jessie Eldridge. Alex Carpenter, who made history scoring the first-ever penalty shot goal in PWHL history, tied the game before Ottawa took the lead back with little time to play. Fanuza Kadirova found the back of the net twice for the Charge. Alexa Vasko and Emily Clark also scored to help secure the victory. The Torrent will look to regroup before hosting the Boston Fleet on March 11, while the Charge travel to the Prudential Center on Sunday for a showdown with the New York Sirens. Ottawa Senators Defeat San Jose 5-4, 1/13/24

   The Sharks played against the Senators in Ottawa on Saturday, January 13th. Both teams had a close chance of winning, it could've gone either way with the 5-4 score - The Senators ended up winning!

   Claude Giroux scores the first goal of the game, and the Senators lead by one. Thomas Chabot doubles the lead with his first! Anthony Duclair nets one, the first goal for the Sharks with 7:25 remaining in the first period. The final score of the first period was 2-1.


   Marc-Edouard Vlasic ties up the game with his first of the season, 2-2 - Kevin Lebang scores soon after, the Sharks now taking the lead from Ottawa. Brady Tkachuk ties the game back up, 3-3 - Drake Batherson nets one soon after Tkachuk, getting the Senators right back in the lead! 4-3 was the final score of the second period.


   Filip Zadina ties up the game 4-4 with 3:04 remaining in the third frame. Vladimir Tarasenko strikes his 10th of the season and the last goal of the game with 3.3 seconds left! The Senators win with a 5-4 score.



"It's a consistency thing - You don't try to win by making highlight reel plays every time. Just stay on the plan, trust the plan, and grind it over. That was the mentality today." Vladimir Tarasenko said after the Senators win against the Sharks.

"We've played games where it's gone our way, we will play games where it doesn't," Justin Bailey said postgame after the Sharks loss to the Senators. "We want to get a point - We're looking towards the second half as an opportunity to build on our game, and continue to get points and what we can to win games."
