Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Panthers 6-2 win over Arizona, 1/24/24

   The Arizona Coyotes played against the Panthers in Florida at the Amerant Bank Arena on Wednesday, January 24th. Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist, extending his point streak to 11 games.

   Matthew Tkachuk scored the first goal of the game, getting Florida a 1-0 lead early into the first frame. He had won a puck battle with J.J. Moser along the boards, turned, and got the puck past Karel Vejmelka. Sam Reinhart made it a 2-0 score on the power play, on a one-timer from the low slot, passing back and forth with Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov. Only 17 seconds after Reinhart, Sam Bennett gets one in... beating Vejmelka glove side, a pass from Verhaeghe.


   Matthew Tkachuk strikes another with 15:46 remaining in the middle frame - scoring from the right circle, making it 4-0. Anton Lundell scored a one-timer off a pass from Reinhart, with 1:43 remaining in the period.


   Making it a 6-0 lead for Florida, Jonah Gadjovich scores a backhand in the front early into the final period. Dylan Guenther nets one for Arizona on the power play, making it 6-1. Logan Cooley tapped in a backdoor pass by Guenther... the final score was 6-2.
