Penguins Fall To The Sabres In Pittsburgh 3-1, 1/6/24

   The Penguins played against the Sabres in Pittsburgh on Saturday, January 6th. After a great win in Boston, the Penguins lost to the Sabres with a 3-1 score.

   Alex Tuch strikes first for the Sabres early into the first. Drew O'Connor ties it up - Buffalo challenges it and it ends up being offside, with no goal. Jake Guentzel scores with just over a minute left in first - Buffalo challenges it and it ends up being goaltender interference, no goal for Pittsburgh. The final score of the first period was 1-0.


   The whole second period is completely scoreless.


   Rickard Rakell ties up the game, this unfortunately being the only goal the Penguins get. Zemgus Girgensons gets the Sabres in the lead with only 4:21 left in the third. Rasmus Dahlin scores and Buffalo wins with a 3-1 score, wrapping up their road trip.



"I think it really goes unsaid how hard he works," Alex Tuch on Luukkonen. "He's always doing extra work, always out there early - I think both of our goalies do a really good job."
