Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Philadelphia Flyers Win 3-2 In Shootout Against The Canadiens, 1/10/24

   The Montreal Canadiens played against the Flyers in Philadelphia on Wednesday, January 10th. After the Canadiens were in the lead to a tie, they went into overtime, and still nothing until the shootout! The Flyers won with a 3-2 score.

   Sean Monahan strikes first for Montreal, this being his eleventh goal of the season. David Savard gets the Canadiens in a two-goal lead, scoring his fourth of the season. Owen Tippett scores late in the first period, cutting the lead - 2-1 being the final score.


   Morgan Frost ties it up, and Jamie Drysdale gets his first point as a Flyer with an assist on the goal! 2-2 was the final score of the second period.


   The third period was completely scoreless, same with overtime - heading into the shootout.

   Sean Couturier scored the only goal in the shootout and the Flyers won with a 3-2 score. This is a good win for the Flyers since they lost their last game, 4-1 against the Penguins, on January 8th.
