Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Predators Defeat The Stars In Dallas 6-3, 1/12/24

   The Predators played against the Stars in Dallas on Friday, January 12th. The Predators won with a 6-3 score! This was an unfortunate loss for Dallas - they had a two-game win streak against the Wild.

   The first period was completely scoreless, 0-0.


   Jeremy Lauzon scores the first goal of the game and the Predators are in the lead with 10:38 remaining in the middle frame. Tommy Novak nets one, this being his sixth of the season! 2-0 was the final score of the second period.


   Jani Hakanpaa gets the Stars started early in the third period! Ryan O'Reilly scores the third goal for the Predators - and Wyatt Johnston strikes the second for Dallas! Filip Forsberg scores, the Predators in the lead by two. Matt Duchene nets one, this being the third and last goal from the Stars. Gustav Nyquist scores an empty-netter, the fifth goal for Nashville, and Juuso Parssinen scores an empty-netter with 30 seconds remaining! The final score was 6-3.
