Kadirova, Elridge Each Score Two, Torrent Falls 4-3 To Charge

  Photo via Seattle Torrent/PWHL The Torrent suffered their fourth straight loss when they took on the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday at TD Place, losing 4-3. Seattle came alive in the second period behind two goals from Jessie Eldridge. Alex Carpenter, who made history scoring the first-ever penalty shot goal in PWHL history, tied the game before Ottawa took the lead back with little time to play. Fanuza Kadirova found the back of the net twice for the Charge. Alexa Vasko and Emily Clark also scored to help secure the victory. The Torrent will look to regroup before hosting the Boston Fleet on March 11, while the Charge travel to the Prudential Center on Sunday for a showdown with the New York Sirens. Rangers Defeat the Kraken 5-2, 1/16/24

   The Kraken played against the Rangers in New York on Tuesday, January 16th. It was an unfortunate loss for the Kraken, especially after they lost against the Penguins - breaking their 9-game win streak. However, this was a great win for the Rangers after so many losses before they beat the Capitals on Sunday.

   Vincent Trocheck strikes the first goal of the game and his 14th of the season. Jordan Eberle ties up the game with his sixth of the season! Erik Gustafsson takes the lead for the Rangers. The final score of the first period was 2-1.


   Blake Wheeler scores the third goal for the Rangers - Kaapo Kakko nets one not long after, the Rangers in the lead by three. 4-1 was the final score of the middle frame.


   Jared McCann scores the second and last goal for the Kraken. Blake Wheeler gets an empty-netter with his second of the game! The final score overall was 5-2.



"It was huge going into the game. We were hoping that we couldn't give them many rush chances and odd-man rushes. They have a lot of speed and they make you pay on those. Unfortunately, we turned the puck over quite a bit - you hate to have to rely on him to make the amount of quality saves he made. Fortunately for us, that's why he's world-class and he made a bunch of big ones for us tonight." Blake Wheeler spoke about the Rangers 5-2 win against the Kraken postgame.
