Kadirova, Elridge Each Score Two, Torrent Falls 4-3 To Charge

  Photo via Seattle Torrent/PWHL The Torrent suffered their fourth straight loss when they took on the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday at TD Place, losing 4-3. Seattle came alive in the second period behind two goals from Jessie Eldridge. Alex Carpenter, who made history scoring the first-ever penalty shot goal in PWHL history, tied the game before Ottawa took the lead back with little time to play. Fanuza Kadirova found the back of the net twice for the Charge. Alexa Vasko and Emily Clark also scored to help secure the victory. The Torrent will look to regroup before hosting the Boston Fleet on March 11, while the Charge travel to the Prudential Center on Sunday for a showdown with the New York Sirens. Red Wings 4-2 Win Against The Maple Leafs 1/14/24

   The Red Wings played against the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Sunday, January 14th. The Maple Leafs had an unfortunate loss - Detroit won with a 4-2 score. However, it was a big win for the Red Wings!

   The first period was completely scoreless, 0-0.


   Pontus Holmberg scored the first goal of the game and his second of the season 32 seconds into the middle frame - Maple Leafs lead by one. Dylan Larkin ties up the game and scores his 17th of the season! Mitch Marner takes the lead for Toronto - 2-1 was the final score of the first period.


   Daniel Sprong ties the game back up, 2-2, being his 11th of the season. Andrew Copp scores the third for the Red Wings - Lucas Raymond strikes an empty-netter and the final score overall is 4-2.



"It truly is a blessing that we get to play a sport for a living. Every once in a while, there's a special night, and tonight is one of those nights." James Reimer spoke postgame about the Red Wings 4-2 win against the Maple Leafs.



- Patrick Kane did not return after the first period for the remainder of the game due to a lower-body injury.
