Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday.    The Stars played against the Avalanche in Dallas on Thursday, January 4th. The Stars fall to Colorado with a 5-4 score in overtime.

   Evgenii Dadonov scores the first goal for the Stars! Nathan MacKinnon ties it up - the final score of the first period being 1-1.


   Tyler Seguin breaks the tie and gets the Stars back in the lead. Joe Pavelski scores, the Stars having a two goal lead! Jonathan Drouin cuts the Stars' lead, 3-2 being the final score for second period.


   Tyler Seguin nets another, Jonathan Drouin also getting his second of the night. Mikko Rantanen ties it up with one minute left - final score of third being 4-4, going into overtime.


   Nathan MacKinnon wins it in overtime! The final score being 5-4.
