Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Stars VS Avalanche 5-4. 1/4/24

   The Stars played against the Avalanche in Dallas on Thursday, January 4th. The Stars fall to Colorado with a 5-4 score in overtime.

   Evgenii Dadonov scores the first goal for the Stars! Nathan MacKinnon ties it up - the final score of the first period being 1-1.


   Tyler Seguin breaks the tie and gets the Stars back in the lead. Joe Pavelski scores, the Stars having a two goal lead! Jonathan Drouin cuts the Stars' lead, 3-2 being the final score for second period.


   Tyler Seguin nets another, Jonathan Drouin also getting his second of the night. Mikko Rantanen ties it up with one minute left - final score of third being 4-4, going into overtime.


   Nathan MacKinnon wins it in overtime! The final score being 5-4.
