Penguins Secure 2nd Straight Victory Against Flyers

  After dropping the first three games to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are officially making things interesting. The Penguins secured their second straight victory in Game 5 on Monday at PPG Paints Arena, defeating the Flyers in a nail-biting 3-2 win to keep their season alive. Sidney Crosby fueled the comeback with a pair of assists, while Elmer Soderblom, Connor Dewar, and Kris Letang each found the back of the net. Following a 4-2 win in Game 4, Pittsburgh has now cut the series lead to 3-2 and will look to force a decisive Game 7 when they travel back to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Tampa Bay Wins With A 3-2 Score In OT, 1/9/24

 






   The Lightning played against the LA Kings in Tampa on Tuesday, January 9th. Tampa Bay won in overtime with a 3-2 score. This was a good win for the Lightning after their 7-3 loss against the Boston Bruins on January 6th.

   The first frame was a completely scoreless period, 0-0.


   Phillip Danault strikes first, this being his eighth goal of the season. Matt Roy scores a few minutes after Danault, LA in the lead by two. Anthony Cirelli scores - the goal ended up not counting due to goaltender interference. The final score was 2-0.


   Tyler Motte scores the first goal for Tampa Bay, this being his third goal of the season. Brandon Hagel ties up the game 2-2. The Lightning and Kings end up going into overtime.


   Nick Perbix wins it with his first of the season for the Lightning in overtime!
