The Jets lose in Boston 4-1, 1/22/24

   The Boston Bruins won their fifth game in a row, as well as extending their point streak to nine games after defeating the Winnipeg Jets with a 4-1 victory. Connor Hellebuyck let in three goals against for the first time since December 18th, an overtime loss against the Montreal Canadiens.

   Jakub Lauko gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Lauko tapped in a pass by Trent Frederic, scoring his second goal of the season. Winnipeg gets one past Swayman, Vladislav Namestnikov strikes his sixth goal of the season and ties up the game 1-1. Charlie Coyle redirects Lindholm's point shot from the slot and scores his 17th of the season. Boston leads with a 2-1 score.


   The second period was completely scoreless... staying at 2-1.


   Jake DeBrusk scored with a short-handed wrist shot, making it a 3-1 score and striking his 12th goal of the season. Brad Marchand strikes the empty net with only seconds remaining. The final score was 4-1.



Jeremy Swayman on being in the moment: "I'm having so much fun playing hockey and that's the biggest thing - It's just having fun and enjoying the moment. I think that's when I play my best."


Charlie Coyle on the Bruins' win over Winnipeg: "We knew the challenge ahead of us... you remember last time we played these guys - it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and we want to show them what we're capable of, the way we're playing, and what we can do."
