Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Vancouver Canucks - 2 Wins In A Row, Defeating The NY Rangers 6-3, 1/8/24

   The Canucks played in New York on Monday, January 8th. The Rangers lost to a 6-3 score, this being their second loss in a row. The Canucks won now two games in a row - the first being on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils.

   Vincent Trocheck strikes first for the Rangers, this being his eleventh goal of the season. J. T. Miller answers back quick after Trocheck, 1-1. Nils Hoglander scores the second goal for the Canucks, putting them in the lead! Brock Boeser nets one with only 16 seconds left in the first period and this being his twenty-fifth of the season - 3-1 being the final.


   Artemi Panarin scores the second goal for the Rangers and his twenty-sixth of the season! Elias Pettersson scores late in the second frame, and Nils Hoglander scores his second of the night - the Canucks now in a three-goal lead.


   It was a two-goal night for Vincent Trocheck, scoring his twelfth of the season. Elias Pettersson nets another with 1:31 left in the third frame! The final score was 6-3.



"They're a good team and it was a good challenge for us to bring our best foot forward. I thought we had a really strong game." Quinn Hughes said, speaking about their win tonight against the Rangers - also saying how it's tough going to New Jersey, beating them, then going to New York and beating them.
