Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points.    The Canucks played against the Blue Jackets in Columbus on Monday, January 15th. The Canucks had an unfortunate loss against the Blue Jackets - they have been on a 5-game win streak and definitely had a great chance of winning in this game.

   J.T. Miller gives the Canucks the lead early in the first period! Yegor Chinakhov scores, tying up the game 1-1 - Conor Garland nets one and gets Vancouver right back in the lead. The final score of the first period was 2-1.


   Dmitri Voronkov ties the game back up, 2-2 - Elias Pettersson answers back, getting the Canucks a one-goal lead. 3-2 was the final score of the middle frame.


   Dmitri Voronkov scores his second of the night and his ninth of the season - tying the game 3-3, being the only goal in the third period - they go to overtime, then a shootout!
