Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Connor Bedard Expected to Return Next Week for the Chicago Blackhawks

 





   Connor Bedard hasn't played since January 5th against the New Jersey Devils due to a broken jaw. Bedard was put onto a 6-8 week timeline after he had his surgery on the 8th of January. On Monday, February 12th, Connor hit the 5-week mark of his timeline and it's beginning to look like the Chicago Blackhawks rookie will return next week.



   After practice on Monday, Luke Richardson said how Bedard will be remaining in the non-contact jersey for the rest of this week but the hope is that he'll be cleared for contact next week. It shouldn't be long after that, that he returns to game action.


Luke Richardson on Connor Bedard: "He'll need a few practices once he gets released from that, and then he'll be ready to go."
