How CCA Succeeded Where Public School Failed

For a long time at Williams Valley, I felt completely stuck. There wasn't just one problem; there were several. During COVID, and after schools shut down, switching to the online option for Williams Valley didn't change the "stuck" feeling. For the last few years at that school, I was bullied both in school and online by students in the same grade, and some even older than me. Even though the bullying was obvious, the school never did anything about it. I can probably only count five teachers from my entire time there who actually cared and made an impact. None of them even work there anymore. They all moved on, probably because they realized the system is terrible. The learning itself was a complete joke. We were relearning a lot of the same subjects every year - I can't even tell you how many times we went over the same units on Native Americans without ever really moving forward. In science class, for one year, we'd just sit there and watch Bill Nye (who ...

Oilers 16-game win streak was put to an end by the Golden Knights 3-1, 2/6/24

*Sorry for the lack of photos! Hoping to get permission eventually.*

The Oilers played against the Golden Knights in Vegas in hopes of continuing their win streak that could have made history. The Oilers have been on a winning streak of 16 straight games, in this game against the Golden Knights they would've tied at 17 if they had won. Unfortunately, the Oilers lost 3-1 against Vegas... their win streak ending at 16 games.

Honestly, I thought the Boston Bruins would've been the team to end Edmonton's win streak!

Connor McDavid on the Oilers' unfortunate loss against Vegas: "I liked a lot of parts of our game. I thought we played similarly to what we've played throughout the entire streak. We just didn't find a way to win - It's always a tough game in this building, we were expecting that. Disappointing, but we move on."

Adin Hill on the Golden Knights' 3-1 win over the Oilers: "It felt like a playoff game tonight. It was as loud, as exciting, and the fans were into it. It was a good atmosphere."
