Bears Lose In 1st OT Since 2023 Against Wolves


 






   The Bears hosted the Chicago Wolves on Saturday, October 19th at the GIANT Center in Hershey, taking a 3-2 overtime loss. Both Alex Limoges and Pierrick Dube scored for Hershey, and Bradley Nadeau, Brendan Lemieux, and Scott Morrow all scored for the Wolves. The Bears and Wolves will be right back at it on Sunday, October 20th in Hershey. This was the Bears' first overtime loss since February 15th, 2023 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

   After starting off scoreless in the first 20, Bradley Nadeau opened the scoring with his first professional goal to give Chicago a 1-0 lead midway through the second period. Nadeau was fed by Ryan Suzuki, who received a stretch pass from Spencer Martin, and the rookie went on to send the puck in past Clay Stevenson from in close. Alex Limoges tied it fast on the power-play, only 16 seconds after the Wolves' opening goal with 7:09 remaining on the clock, heading into the final frame tied. Pierrick Dube assisted on Limoges' goal, earning his first out of two points during this matchup.


   Pierrick Dube gave the Bears their first lead of the night early into the third period at 16:52, grabbing his first goal of the season and his second point of the game with a power-play strike. Just 17 seconds after Dube's goal, the Wolves came back with a quick response when Brendan Lemieux took the puck to Hershey's net and put it past Clay Stevenson to even it at 2-2.


   With 1:50 on the clock in overtime, Scott Morrow put the puck home to secure a 3-2 overtime win. Morrow sped into the Bears' zone with Ryan Suzuki alongside him, and he took a tremendous feed from Suzuki, then fired home the game-winner past Clay Stevenson glove side.





Notes:

- With his game-tying goal in the middle frame, Alex Limoges extended his point streak to four games (1 goal, 5 assists) since the beginning of the season.

- Pierrick Dube recorded two points, one goal and one assist.

- The Bears maintain an active six-game point streak against the Chicago Wolves heading into Sunday's rematch.

- Clay Stevenson made a total of 31 saves for Hershey out of 34 shots.

- Hershey was 1-for-2 on the power play, and Chicago was 0-for-4.

- This was the first showdown between the clubs since February 19th, 2006.

- Ryan Suzuki recorded two assists, and Spencer Martin made 33 saves for Chicago out of 35 shots.

- This was the first win of the season for the Chicago Wolves.

- With his assist on Brendan Lemieux's first goal of the season, rookie Charles-Alexis Legault recorded his first professional point.
