Patrick Kane Returns to Chicago, Two-Year Deal

  On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with former star forward Patrick Kane on a two-year, $16 million contract that includes a no-move clause. Patrick Kane played the first of his 19 NHL seasons with Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 11 times in his career, earning 138 points (53 goals, 85 assists) in 143 postseason games. Kane ranks third in franchise history in assists (80), points (132), and games played (136), and ranks fourth in goals (52). Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, the 37-year-old forward had 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games. He finished fourth on the Red Wings with 16 goals and 41 assists, ranking fifth with 57 points. Kane is one of two active NHL players (Alex Ovechkin) to secure 40-or-more points in each of the last 19 seasons and is one of just 19 players to do so in NHL history. Matt Rempe Recalled From AHL Hartford, Kreider Placed On IR

 







   On Monday, January 6th, it was announced that Matt Rempe had been sent down to the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack. However, the New York Rangers called him up due to placing Chris Kreider on IR, retroactive to Sunday.

With an upper-body injury, Kreider was missing from the Rangers' lineup on Sunday, a win against the Chicago Blackhawks. He will be out through at least next Sunday and will miss at least three games. Kreider may miss another three games, however, due to the schedule, it could be more than that.

 

On Saturday, the Rangers will be out west when Chris Kreider is eligible to return to the lineup. They will be taking on the Vegas Golden Knights to start their three-game road trip before heading back home to Madison Square Garden to host the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Likely, Kreider won't be making his return on Saturday against Vegas, and he may miss out on the next two games against the Colorado Avalanche and the Utah Hockey Club, however, that's unclear as of right now. 

So, with Chris Kreider on IR, the Rangers recalled Matt Rempe, who had just returned to the Hartford Wolf Pack after serving an eight-game suspension.
