After a scoreless first 20, Catherine Dubois found the back of the net to get Montreal a 1-0 lead, picking up her first goal of the season at 15:44 of the second period. Abby Roque had the puck, skated into the left face-off circle, and fired, but her shot got blocked, bouncing out to the right wall. Roque sent the puck along the right wall, where it circled around the back of the net to Laura Stacey on the left, who skated around to the right, and Dubois shoved the puck in past Hannah Murphy. At 6:59, Stacey took a pass from Roque, who got the puck after Carpenter lost it along the left wall, before Roque sent it up through the neutral zone, where Stacey collected it, stealing it from Aneta Tejralova for a shorthanded jailbreak goal to make it 2-0. This was Stacey's fourth goal of the season.

Alex Carpenter cut it to 2-1, scoring her eighth goal of the season at 12:04 of the third period after Danielle Serdachny grabbed the puck, popping it out from along the right wall to keep it away from Montreal, and Theresa Schafzahl picked it up as she skated into Montreal's end, passing it over to Carpenter, who quickly put it into an open net from in close. At 11:00, Skylar Irving put one in past Murphy for her second goal of the season to increase the lead to 3-1 when Kati Tabin struck from near the blue line, and it deflected in off Irving, who was in front. Stacey struck the empty Seattle net for her second of the night after taking a pass from Tabin for the 4-1 final.
