The Devils, who have been alternating between wins and losses lately, hosted the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, looking to keep the momentum rolling after shutting out Montreal on Sunday, but ultimately fell 5-1. Trevor Zegras and Tyson Foerster each found the back of the net twice, while Dan Vladar stopped 23 shots to help lead the Flyers to their third straight victory. Early into the opening period at 18:04, Trevor Zegras got things started for the Flyers, giving them a 1-0 lead with his 24th goal of the season. Owen Tippett had the puck, circled the net to hand the puck off to Travis Sanheim on the left, who passed it across to Zegras in the right circle for a wrist shot. Zegras struck again for his second of the game, also reaching an NHL career-high 25th at 16:22 when he took a pass from Porter Martone, who received the puck from Jamie Drysdale, tipping it in past Jacob Markstrom to make it 2-0. Cody Glass pulled New Jersey within one at 7:48 after Lenni Hameenaho lost control of the puck near the blue line, and Jonas Siegenthaler picked it up, firing from the slot, and it deflected off a jumping Glass before it went in off Dan Vladar's mask to make it 2-1. This was Glass's 18th goal of the season.

Tyson Foerster made it 3-1 at 17:14 in the second period, scoring his 12th of the season after taking a pass from Matvei Michkov, who poked it away from Simon Nemec, sending it along the right boards. Foerster picked it up, carried the puck into the right circle during a 2-on-1 with Tippett, and put a wrister past Markstrom. Not long after putting up the third Flyers tally, Foerster made it 4-1 for his second of the night when he converted a tic-tac-toe passing play with Zegras and Michkov, scoring on a wrist shot from the left side at 15:02.

With 2:51 left to go in the third period, Nick Seeler put in an empty-netter from his own zone for the 5-1 final. This was Seeler's third goal of the season.
